Warranty records in Nook can hold product identity (manufacturer, model, serial), purchase date and retailer notes, warranty start and expiration dates, coverage notes, and local attachments such as receipts or photos.
- Filter warranties by active, expiring soon, expired, or no end date.
- Sort by soonest expiration so coverage windows stay visible.
- Export a claim-packet PDF that gathers the product details and attachment names for your own use.
Nook helps you keep the record and supporting files together. It does not automatically determine whether a claim will be approved, and it does not connect to retailers, banks, or automatic document-scanning services.
Private by default.
Local storage and direct user control—not a hosted vault service.
- Records live on your Mac. Item metadata is stored in the app’s local data store (SwiftData on device).
- Attachments stay local. Warranty files are kept under the app’s local Application Support storage.
- Secrets use the Keychain. Values marked secret are stored in the macOS Keychain with accessibility limited to this device when unlocked—not as iCloud-synced vault content managed by Nook.
- No cloud sync in the current app. The Mac App Store build is sandboxed without network client entitlements for accounts, analytics, or SG1 Labs phone-home.
- Not remote AI by default. Nook is not generic AI chat and does not send your vault to a remote AI service for classification or retrieval.
Nook is designed around local storage and direct user control. The claims here match the local-first architecture the app actually implements—not exaggerated security slogans.

Owns memories, photos, journals, events, and timeline context.
These products remain separate. Nook does not silently search or expose records from Document Desk or LifeCapture, and future handoffs would be explicit and user-controlled. Universal Hearth search is not described as currently available.
